Cannabis, concentrated.
Concentrates are extracted forms of cannabis where cannabinoids and terpenes have been separated from the plant material. The resulting product is 5–10× more potent than flower, typically in the 60–90% THC range. Most-common consumption: dabbing on a heated quartz or ceramic surface in a water-pipe rig.
Solventless to distillate.
| Format | Extraction method | THC % | Tier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Live rosin | Solventless (pressed fresh-frozen flower) | 70–85% | Premium |
| Live resin | Solvent (butane, fresh-frozen flower) | 70–85% | Mid-premium |
| Shatter | Solvent (BHO, dried flower) | 70–90% | Mid |
| Hash (traditional) | Solventless (pressed trichomes) | 40–60% | Mid |
| Crumble / wax / budder | Solvent (textured BHO) | 60–80% | Mid |
| Distillate | Solvent (refined to isolate) | 80–95% | High potency |
Live rosin is solventless extraction from fresh-frozen flower; the premium concentrate category.
The rig walkthrough.
A small portion of concentrate (the "dab" — about 25-50mg, rice-grain to small-pea sized) is heated on a hot surface (the "banger" — typically quartz or ceramic) inside a water-pipe-style "rig." The resulting vapor is inhaled through the rig.
Modern setups use either a butane torch (heat the banger 30-45 seconds, let cool 30-45 seconds for ideal temp) or an electric "e-nail" (set-and-forget temperature control, more consistent).
